P.W. Infestation in Lung, Brain and Spine

Abstract

|
46 year-old male patient admitted due to hemoptysis for 3 years and progressive weakness of both lower extrimities for 1 year.
He was a farmer and he has eaten raw water crayfish and crab.
Chest film showed ill-defined increased and nodular densities with cavitations and myelography showed complete blocking, epidural type, at the level of L3. Brain CT showed well marginated low-density aria and multiple calcifications at right frontal, temporal and parietal area. At spinal operation, yellowish protruding mass was found in the extradural spar extended from L1 to L3.
Many eggs of P. W. were found in sputum smear and spinal epidural mass. Authors reported this case with review of literatures.
